Energy Auditing is measuring the energy that is currently being consumed and finding efficient ways to reduce energy use. This service is delivered at three levels for house holds, Business and Industry.
Basic
An energy consultant performs a walk through energy audit of the premises identifying areas where energy can be saved.
Detailed
This service provides a more detailed analysis of energy use. Measuring the energy use of appliances and lighting on a room by room or area basis of the premises enables greater reductions to be made. A pay back figure is also calculated for appliances or systems if requested.
Comprehensive
This service is geared for business and industry where a reduction in energy use can improve profitability. A pay back figure and net present value are also calculated.
Energy Consultation is an educational presentation package. The package is presented to families, business, enterprises and community groups who want to do their own energy audit or start a new venture wanting to employ energy reduction methods. A presentation will be tailored to provide information on the energy matters of concern; eg electrical, renewable energies and or fossil fuel (transport). This service can also contain a basic energy audit for educational purposes in measuring and calculating energy use.

Legislation requires that new buildings and vehicles meet energy or efficiency ratings and these ratings are increasing. ECA designs energy efficient passive solar buildings and provides energy efficiency ratings on new and existing buildings.
